Danielle DiFrancesco, M.A., R.P.
If you’re feeling stuck in patterns that are difficult to change or moving through a chapter of life that feels overwhelming, working with a therapist can be a meaningful and transformative form of self-care, especially when there is a strong fit. At times, we need new tools, a fresh perspective, or simply a space to feel seen, heard, and supported as we make sense of difficult experiences. I offer a non-judgmental space and a genuine, caring therapeutic relationship where we can explore the roots of your struggles and begin to find a way forward together.
I work one-on-one with adults navigating mood concerns, overwhelming emotions, relationship and family challenges (including with partners, parents, children, colleagues, or extended family), difficulties with self-worth and self-esteem, experiences of trauma or abuse, and questions related to identity. I take an integrative approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), person-centered therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to tailor our work together in a way that reflects your unique needs and goals. I have a special interest in working with attachment trauma and supporting clients working through wounds which may arise in the context of our most intimate relationships.
I believe it is important to honour and understand the full context of who you are, including your thoughts, emotions, past experiences, cultural background, spirituality, and identities. Together, we will explore where you may be feeling stuck, while working toward greater clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of movement forward.
Our work will begin with an initial intake, where I will ask questions to better understand your background, the challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we will collaboratively establish goals and determine how to use our time in a way that feels meaningful and effective for you. I place strong value on cultivating a sense of connection and trust in the therapeutic relationship, and creating space for open dialogue about what is working and what you may need during the process.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University in Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. I have additional training in Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy and trauma-informed practice. My experience includes working within employee assistance programs (EAP), where I have provided crisis counselling and structured CBT-based therapy for trauma, as well as in clinical settings supporting individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, including treatment for PTSD and coping with chronic pain. I look forward to meeting you.
