Jillian Jeffery, M.A., CT (Provisional)
Undertaking therapy can feel both exciting and overwhelming. I am honoured that you are considering taking this important step towards growth and insight with me. Drawing from over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I bring a warm and compassionate approach to therapy that supports personal growth and allows clients to feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. My goal is to create a supportive space where we work together to overcome the challenges you are facing, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change.
In my practice, I provide therapy services to young adults and adults who are experiencing a wide range of personal, relational, academic, and life-transition concerns. I have experience and expertise in supporting individuals who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, grief and loss, emotional regulation, workplace stress, academic pressures, and personality disorders. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide an inclusive, culturally responsive, and client-centred therapeutic experience that recognizes each individual’s unique experiences and strengths.
I have extensive experience in supporting clients as they navigate developmental transitions, academic challenges, personal growth, and mental health concerns. Additionally, I have experience supporting children and adults with intellectual disabilities through vocational and life-skills programming. Drawing on my background as a community living worker, I have developed skills in helping individuals build resilience, strengthen coping skills, improve self-confidence, and manage anxiety, stress, and life transitions.
From our first meeting, I will work collaboratively with you to establish a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship in order to better understand your concerns, strengths, and goals. Together, we will develop a personalized and integrative treatment plan that reflects your values and desired outcomes. To help you achieve your goals, I integrate various evidence-based psychological treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Throughout the therapy process, I emphasize collaboration, compassion, and practical strategies that empower you to create meaningful and lasting change.
I have completed a Master of Counselling Psychology degree at Yorkville University and continue to build my clinical skills through supervised professional practice as a Provisional Counselling Therapist. My educational background also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island and a Human Services Diploma from Holland College. More recently, I completed a counselling therapy practicum at Holland College. Since 2021, I have worked as a Student Support Worker, providing academic support, mentorship, accommodation planning, and student success programming. Previously, I served as a Transitions Mentor, helping high school students explore educational and career pathways. At the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships (CFIR), I am supervised by Dr. Jennifer Bradley, C. Psych.
