Dr. Julia Guerra, C.Psych. (Supervised Practice)
Life has a way of surprising us. It brings unexpected joys and offers opportunities for growth through challenging situations. Those seeking therapy are curious and ready to take leadership of their wellbeing and make meaningful change.
I work with adults and couples seeking to become stronger versions of themselves. There is no greater power than knowing oneself, recognizing internal and external patterns, and effectively managing the demands of a busy life.
I offer psychodiagnostic assessment services to help clients explore patterns of thinking, behaving, and connecting with others that keeps them feeling stuck, unproductive, and unable to enjoy life. Recommendations are shared in a one-on-one feedback meeting and in a detailed report. I am particularly interested in helping clients who are struggling to manage emotions, trauma-related experiences, feeling worried, stuck in repetitive behaviours and routines, struggling to keep healthy relationships, lacking attention and focus, and living in survival mode. My goal is help clients feel seen, understood, and able to overcome personal or professional limitations they may experience.
I also offer therapy services to help individuals and couples who feel stuck in a narrative that no longer fits, who fall into repetitive and vicious cycles, find themselves surviving instead of growing, and feel a lack of control and alignment with their beliefs. Areas of focus when working with me include relationship satisfaction with self and others, romantic relationships, family relationships, fertility journey, sexual health, intimacy, emotion regulation and expression, confidence building, performance burnout, mood concerns, grief, and trauma.
Together, we will discuss your life story, explore the important events and people you have encountered, recognize maladaptive patterns that deplete your energy, and utilize your experience and skillfulness to build compassionate relationships, improve mood, and lead a life that reflects your values.
My therapeutic work integrates an interpersonal, emotion-focused, attachment-based and psychodynamic approach. I use evidence-based modalities and assessment tools to understand your needs and create an intervention plan that supports growth. Our work together will be collaborative, transparent, respectful, and I will ask for your continued feedback to ensure that we are working in a way that you find meaningful and beneficial. My hope is to provide clients with a balance between feeling supported and understood, while also encouraging slow and steady changes. I seek to create a space that offers you privacy and safety to explore, experience, accept, and challenge yourself.
If my clinical process piques your curiosity and aligns with your need for understanding and change, I invite you to begin your journey and book a consultation.
