Lakshmi Mupparthi M.A., R.P.
Life can present challenges that create a cascade of difficult thoughts, emotions, and relational struggles-in relationships, at work, and within ourselves. When these experiences become overwhelming, it is common to feel caught in patterns of anxiety, depression, guilt, hopelessness, or disconnection. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I have spent the past seven years supporting individual adults and couples in cultivating insight, nurturing emotional resilience, and fostering meaningful connections, while helping them pursue their therapeutic goals and encouraging growth, self-understanding, and exploration in the areas they choose to focus on.
I work from a humanistic and experiential foundation and tailor therapy to each client’s needs-whether we are processing emotional pain, trauma, exploring relational patterns, or developing more adaptive coping strategies. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from emotion-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic frameworks. I also incorporate attachment-based principles and compassion-focused strategies to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and relational healing. When appropriate, I may draw from narrative or mentalization-based practices to encourage reflection and insight.
In individual therapy, I support adults navigating stress, emotional challenges, life transitions, as well as attention-related challenges and broader neurodivergent experiences, with a focus on relational and attachment trauma, and more. In my work with couples, I help partners move through conflict, strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, rebuild trust, and explore differences in attachment styles that shape patterns in the relationship. I bring lived experience alongside clinical insight to therapy, recognizing how even subtle life shifts can impact our mental well-being. I am committed to building together and holding a space where clients can bring their whole selves and explore their experiences without judgment. In our work together, we will begin with a collaborative discussion of your goals and experiences, often supported by a structured, evidence-informed assessment to help deepen your understanding of your emotional landscape. I welcome individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds, identities, and orientations.
I am a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, with a masters in psychology and an additional diploma in clinical psychology. I regularly engage in trainings and workshops to stay current with the latest research and best practices. It allows me to continuously refine my skills and integrate emerging therapeutic approaches, ensuring that my clients receive effective care.
Assessments: I assist and work under the supervision of Dr. Peter Egeto, C. Psych, in providing neuropsychological and psychological assessment services for adults focused on ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and related neurodevelopmental and psychological concerns. The process includes an interview and cognitive testing to clarify diagnoses, guide treatment, and provide a deeper understanding of individual strengths and challenges.
