Iguaraya Morales, M.A., C.Psych. Assoc. (Supervised Practice)
Taking the first step to confront challenging thoughts, emotions, and behaviors requires immense courage, and I commend you for embarking on this path toward healing and self-improvement. As a mental health professional, my goal is to provide you with a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges and work toward resolution.
With 37 years of experience as a psychologist in Venezuela and internationally, I have had the privilege of helping many individuals navigate their personal struggles. I understand how deeply personal these experiences can be, and I am committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where you feel empowered in your journey toward wellness.
My practice addresses a wide range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, and trauma recovery. I also have extensive experience helping clients with self-esteem issues, grief, workplace stress, burnout, chronic or terminal illness, and life transitions. I am comfortable working with individuals from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds and identities, and I prioritize creating an inclusive, respectful space for all.
In our sessions, you can expect a confidential therapeutic relationship grounded in respect, empathy, and authenticity. I strive to foster an atmosphere where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions, and I am dedicated to helping you develop effective strategies for meaningful change.
I hold a Doctorate in Human Sciences from La Universidad del Zulia and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from California State University. Additionally, I have certifications in Psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology, 500-hour yoga training, and various psychotherapeutic methods. Over the years, I have supervised clinical cases and taught at the university level, contributing to the development of future mental health professionals.
My approach to therapy integrates multiple therapeutic modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existentialism, and Mindfulness, allowing me to tailor interventions to your unique needs. During our initial session, we will collaborate to establish your therapeutic goals and assess your experiences. I also conduct comprehensive, evidence-based assessments to help identify the root of your challenges and guide our work together.
In addition to my clinical work, I have served as a professor at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in medical schools and clinical psychology programs. I have also contributed to the field as a member of the Board of the World Association for the Person-Centred Approach, earning numerous international recognitions, including being selected by Harvard University to support my master’s studies in the USA. Moreover, I have presented at conferences around the world, sharing my insights with fellow professionals.
My academic contributions include multiple publications and research aimed at advancing therapeutic practices and deepening our understanding of human behavior. I remain committed to staying informed about the latest trends and evidence-based practices in psychology to offer the best support for my clients.
I look forward to the opportunity to work together on your path to healing and personal growth.
