Daniela Levi, R.P. (Qualifying)

If you are reading this bio, you might be looking to bring about a meaningful change in your life. You might be affected by anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, struggling with your emotions, and/or with your self-esteem. These difficulties often affect one’s relationships, from romantic partners to friendships and colleagues, as well as one’s relationship with their own self. Suffering is a common experience of being human. But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming, and you can get help. Together, we can work on healing and relieving some of your suffering by understanding where it comes from and by developing more helpful coping skills and capacities.

In the therapy room, I will work collaboratively with you on choosing your goals for therapy and I will utilize my expertise to help choose the type of treatment that best suits you. I value my relationship with my clients, and I will regularly check in with you about your experience of your progress and our work together. I have experience with several evidence-based therapeutic orientations, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

In my practice, I have worked with adults and couples who have experienced difficulties with depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-esteem struggles, ADHD, self-harming behaviours, suicidality and more. With couples, I have worked on conflict, infidelity, sexual difficulties, communication, infertility and more. At CFIR, I have also been conducting General Battery Assessments with adults.

In my work, I have encountered people from all backgrounds and identities, ranging from immigrants and refugees, second generations, members of the LGBTQ+ community, to people with various socio-economic statuses.

I am currently completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (EdD) at the University of Toronto. Additionally, I am an Associate at the Clinic under the supervision of Dr. Melodie Britt, D.Psy., C.Psych. As a doctoral student, I conduct supervised research on the effect that relationships with early caregivers have on our choices of friendships and romantic partners. I am currently registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
