Cassandra Muileboom, M.A.

When it comes to mental health, knowledge is power—there is nothing like self-understanding on an emotional, cognitive, behavioural and relational level to help decode the puzzles of the mind that often keep us feeling stuck. Many people find themselves repeating familiar patterns or struggling with challenging emotions, not always understanding the roots. In therapy, we can gently explore these experiences together, creating space for curiosity, clarity, and meaningful change. I work with individuals, couples, and groups who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions and more, offering a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment for growth and healing.

My clinical interests include supporting clients dealing with trauma and mood disorders, as well as exploring the complexities of neurodivergence and diverse identities. I am particularly passionate about psychometrics—the use of assessment tools to help clients better understand their strengths and challenges. Whether working individually, with couples, or in group therapy, I aim to tailor my approach to the unique story and needs of each client.

From our very first session, my focus is on building a respectful, collaborative partnership. I draw from psychodynamic theory to explore how past experiences and relational patterns influence present life, while also incorporating evidence-based strategies from cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness modalities. Our time together will balance insight-building and practical skill development and more, always paced according to your comfort and readiness.

Through my training at Adler University and CFIR, I have had the opportunity to work with adults, couples, and groups from a wide variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. These experiences have deepened my commitment to inclusive, responsive care that honours each person’s identity and lived experiences. As an African Canadian woman, I strive to ensure my practice is accessible and welcoming, and am pleased to offer services in both English and French.

Academically, my background includes research and coursework in mood disorders, trauma, neurodivergence, and psychometric assessment. I am committed to lifelong learning and professional growth and am a student member of organizations such as the Canadian Psychological Association. I approach my work with ongoing curiosity, humility, and dedication to evidence-based best practices.

I am currently a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counselling student at Adler University. As part of my training, I am completing a clinical practicum at the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships (CFIR) under the supervision of Dr. Lila Hakim, C. Psych., where I am developing skills in both therapeutic intervention and comprehensive assessment within a collaborative and evidence-based framework.
