Melanie Franklin, M.A., R.P.

Embarking on a journey toward self-discovery and personal growth is a commendable step. As your therapist I am here to support you navigate this important and often challenging process. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, past trauma, ADHD, or life transitions, I offer a compassionate and understanding therapeutic space to explore these concerns. My approach is holistic and culturally sensitive, ensuring that your unique experiences are honored and validated. Together, we will work towards enhancing your well-being and achieving a more balanced life.

In my clinical practice, I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in providing trauma-informed care utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Somatic, and Arts-Based therapies. This integrative approach allows me to tailor our sessions to your specific needs and goals, promoting effective and meaningful progress.

During your initial session, we will collaboratively establish therapeutic goals and, drawing on my extensive experience in mental health, I will provide professional guidance on how we can achieve them effectively. I will also conduct comprehensive, evidence-based assessments to help you gain a deeper understanding of the underlying factors contributing to your challenges. Throughout our work, I employ various psychological treatments aimed at facilitating your personal growth and helping you attain a sense of balance in your life.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). I am committed to ongoing professional development and have completed additional training in trauma-informed care and culturally sensitive practices.

Beginning therapy is a significant decision, and I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where you feel understood and empowered. Together, we will build on your strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. With a thoughtful and evidence-based approach, I am committed to guiding you on your path to growth and well-being.
