It takes courage to consider taking the first step in the therapy process and I would be honoured to take this journey with you. Starting therapy can be a challenging and vulnerable time in your life. By entering therapy, you can learn to better understand yourself and make the necessary changes to live a happier and more fulfilled life. You will learn to tackle difficult thoughts, behaviours, and emotions in order to overcome life’s challenges. My approach to therapy is collaborative as I believe that you know your story best. I will be there by your side as we explore your history and tackle the goals you have throughout the process.
Building a therapeutic relationship and having a good therapeutic fit is the most important aspect of my work. We will work together to find the right approach that works for you. I have worked in providing therapy for clients with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Postpartum and Perinatal concerns, Interpersonal Relationship concerns, Disordered Eating, and more. I draw from a rich background and training in several evidence-based approaches including: Narrative therapy, DBT, CBT, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic, Emotion focused, Person-centred, and Art Therapy Interventions. When utilizing these therapeutic modalities, I ensure my work is client centred and focused on empowering you to make the changes that you would like to see in yourself.
Giving you the space to feel comfortable and open enough to talk about the most difficult moments in your life sets the stage for us to collaborate throughout the therapy process. In your initial sessions, we will discuss what brought you to therapy as well as what goals you want to achieve throughout the process. We will also explore your background and history to understand your presenting concerns and learn about you through a scientifically-based assessment to help you and I understand your specific challenges. We will work together to identify the root cause of your concerns and create a roadmap collaboratively to empower you to discover how to live your healthiest and most fulfilling life.
I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists and graduated with my Masters of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Most recently completing Level 1 Gottman Couples Therapy Training and an Art Therapy Interventions course. I have experience working with children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals.
I look forward to hearing from you and am excited to start on this journey together.
